Golf

As I was instructing my nephew this morning in playing golf a wee-bit better I started to see God move. I know what you are thinking, me teaching anyone to play golf is the joke here, but what I started to see was that God was using golf to show me some important lessons that I needed to learn. The ball is what God wanted us to accomplish and the club is God (and of course we are still we in this story). As Hawkins would try and force the club through the swing he would always miss the hit. He would either miss the ball entirely or he would hit the ball where we couldn't walk. But, if he would let the club do its job then the ball went right where it was suppose to. Accordingly, if we let God carry through just as He wants to do anyway then our lives will end up right where they are suppose to. But, just like when Hawkins would force the club through on his swing and the ball went where it was not suppose to if we don’t let God do what he wants to do then our lives are going to end up way off the chose course. At least this is just my line of thinking, and no all my future blogs aren’t going to be about golf. Unless I get a favorable response. Hehe

When You Lose Your Barbie Lunch Box

I was trying to console my six-year-old daughter, who had lost her new Barbie lunch box on the way home from school.

"But it's only material," I said, "And God doesn't want us to get caught up with material things."

Through her sobs, she revealed her broken heart. "But it's not material, it's plastic!"
